Charting Your Tennis Match

Filming at the Denver City Open I ran across a friend who was charting a match.   Turns out there is a new app out there for Android phones that does a pretty good job of charting matches!  And it’s free!  I downloaded it in about two minutes and was charting right along side of him within four minutes.  Wow – and it’s pretty decent too!  Recognizes winners, errors and unforced errors, service faults, forehand/backhand groundstrokes, volley backhand/forehand and a few other things.

Now my friend was sitting there charting the match in real time.  I suggest that it is easier and more fun to film the match, then go home and chart it at your leisure, with a remote control and a cold one maybe.  Replay the points if there’s any doubt.

Oh, yeah, the name of the app is “Tennis Math”.  Give it a try, you’ll like it!
